ACROSS THE TOWNS AND LAKE ROADS, between the Canadian
Shield and the mouth of the St. Lawrence, Jay Harris writes songs about everyday life, long drives,
and the quiet ways people carry on.
Raised on late-night radio, classic pop songwriting, and Canadian indie rock, his music drifts
between jangling guitar songs, slow-burners, and reflective folk rock, often with a little wry humour
somewhere in the corners.
Jays’ releases, including Sundumb and Slow Commotion, both were made with a rotating cast of
Canadian friends and musicians including Bazil Donovan, Gord Tough, Cam Giroux, Bob Packwood and
Zane Whitfield, and others — songs carried on the warm lake wind moving through Eastern Ontario.
For upcoming shows, Harris is joined by Jon “Bunny” Stewart (guitar), Rob Radford (drums),
Paul Muller (bass), and Benji Perosin (keys).
